What are Mini CT Scans Used For?
Diagnosing sinus-related conditions can be tricky for your ear, nose, and throat doctor. However, with a Xoran MiniCAT CT scan, your doctor can see into the sinus and head, using 3D visual images to aid in the diagnostic process. But what are mini CT scans used for? Find out with Dr. David Jassir, Dr. Mark Sukenik and Dr. Sabine V. Hesse at South Florida ENT Associates in Pembroke Pines and Hollywood, FL.
What is a Xoran MiniCT scan?
The Xoran MiniCT scan is a diagnostic tool which creates 3D images of the inside of your body. What sets the MiniCT apart is its open nature, fast scanning process, and ease of use. The scan itself takes only about 40 seconds, where the arm of the machine moves around the head to capture information. Doctors often use the CT scans to diagnose things which they cannot see from the outside of your body like internal bleeding or tumors. However, they can also see the sinus cavity and bones which house it.
What can I expect from a Xoran MiniCT Scan?
The MiniCT scan takes place right in your doctor’s office with a small machine. While a traditional CT scan requires you to lay in a chamber for an extended period of time, the MiniCT will simply circle your head as you stand. The arm swivels around the head to capture the images and your scan is completed in seconds. Compared to traditional CT scans, this is a big change and much more comfortable for the patient. Additionally, the MiniCT scan puts off significantly less radiation than traditional CT scans. The Xoran MiniCT can help your doctor make an accurate diagnosis while avoiding complex diagnostic tools.
